As Subject Leader for the Design Products, Design Interactions, and Design & Coding courses, Evan is responsible for the course direction and management of staff, in addition to teaching subjects such as design research, project management, coding, and interaction.

Evan is an educator and practicing artist whose works span the mediums of moving image, sound, installation, performance, computer games, and interactive art. A graduate of both engineering and art schools (Cornell University ’99 and NYU ITP ’04), Evan’s art and teaching practice uses science and technology in the service of the human experience, using art, design, and education to work towards creating a robust, resilient system of distributed knowledge and skills that improves all those who take part in it.

Notably, Evan has shown work at the Kinetica Art Fair, London; Maker Faire, London; MakeArt, Poitier, FR; he has worked with the artist Robert Whitman, the architectural firm SOM, the interactive design agency Jason Bruges Studio; and given a TEDx talk (in collaboration with Technology Will Save Us) about teaching creativity, art, and technology. Evan continues to make art, participating recently in the EU Culture-funded City Noises project where he collaborated with artists from Helsinki and Budapest to create an installation of 40 electronic “birds” embedded with the voices of people from across the EU.
